AUDIO Can You Find Chapel Hill Mall? Google Can't 11/6/2009 10:48:14 AM | Ryan Haidet, AkronNewsNow.com If you are planning on going to the mall soon, you might want to think twice before trusting the Internet for your roadway directions. ![]() Google goofs on Chapel Hill's location, and labels it as Summit Mall Shopping Center.
advertisement 2000 Brittain Road. That's where you should find Chapel Hill Mall. But if you're searching for it on Google Maps, you're going to find a different shopping mall altogether. Upon punching in that address you'll see the correct location pops up in the map itself -- except it's labeled incorrectly as the Summit Mall Shopping Center. That would give us two Summit Malls within the county, if you include the actual one located on West Market Street in Fairlawn.
Whoops.
But this isn't the first incident in which Google goofed up locally.
Google also recently messed up searches for Canton. Users were instead finding maps of a town called Colesville, which doesn't even exist in Ohio.
That error has since been corrected after Google received several complaints.
Google will soon be correcting the Summit/Chapel Hill Mall mixup.
