According to the Record-Courier, Michael Bartlett Jr. said he sustained burns on several parts of his body after he entered the burning home on Sunday morning to warn those inside of the flames.

Authorities on scene eventually Tasered and arrested Bartlett after they claim to have him warned several times that he was hindering firefighters while putting himself in harm's way.  He was arrested on a pair of misdemeanor charges.  Bartlett was reportedly trying to help family and friends inside.

As of this moment, Kent Police have reason to believe the fire was the result of arson.  One person who lived at the home says a tiki torch, which had been taken out of an unopened package, was likely used to set the fire outside of her bedroom.

The house was the site of a party Saturday night, and Barltett had a reported disagreement with an univited guest.  According to the newspaper, Bartlett left home to watch the Halloween festivities downtown, but when he returned he spotted the fire coming out of his sister's room.

The home was heavily damaged and uninhabitable as a result.

The fire is under investigation.
