To make sure it stays that way, the American Red Cross has some ideas that might help make Halloween a safe experience. advertisement When it comes to costumes, officials suggest wearing makeup instead of masks. That way there is no risk of vision obstructions. Also be sure to wear a flame-resistant costume with reflective tape attached to it and any Trick-Or-Treat bags. Light-colored clothing is also strongly suggested. Plan ahead and know the route your children will be taking. Even better, go around the neighborhood with them. When the gathering of goodies is complete, be sure to inspect all the treats to check for choking hazards and tampering. Officials advise to throw out any candy that is unwrapped.
