The Best Halloween TV Shows Ever 10/30/2009 2:14:47 PM | Ryan Haidet, AkronNewsNow.com Throughout the years, dozens of television shows have worked to capture the Halloween season. Where some fall flat like a Trick-Or-Treater with an empty pumpkin pail, others are so good they stick in our minds for years like a great scare. advertisement We at AkronScreams have compiled the best of the best of those TV shows. The spookiest and cookiest of all Halloween-themed programming. 1 It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown -- It has become a Halloween classic. The season simply wouldn't feel the same without watching Charlie Brown and the gang Trick-Or-Treat as Linus sits back waiting for the arrival of the legendary Great Pumpkin. There is just something about the 'Great Pumpkin' that has us coming back year after year. It's just the perfect Halloween TV show. 2 Roseanne's Boo! -- Known for pulling pranks on each other, Roseanne is after Dan to create the ultimate scare. Filled with fake electrocutions, chainsaw-wielding maniacs and a house of horrors, the episode is extremely well done. The pranks are funny, the costumes are great too. 3 Garfield's Halloween Adventure -- Truly one of my absolute favorite Halloween TV shows that I loved watching as a kid. Garfield gets greedy and plans a scheme to get extra candy. But it backfires when he has an encounter with 100-year-old pirate ghosts. They are angry and after their treasure, which Garfield and puppy pal Odie have come across. They fight to escape and keep all their candy. It's creepy enough for the whole family to enjoy. 4 Home Improvement's I Was A Teenage Taylor -- When the Taylor kids keep trying to scare their parents, Tim and Jill concoct a prank-filled plan to get revenge at the kids. The episode is filled with nothing but classic Halloween jokes that will have you laughing so hard you'll need stitches like Frankenstein's monster.
5 South Park's Pink Eye -- It was years ago when Comedy Central first brought horror to the controversial show. What the residents of South Park believe is a pink eye pandemic is actually a zombie attack. They are forced to battle the walking dead in a hilarious series of events that ends with a parody of Michael Jackson's Thriller. A great, funny way to enjoy the haunted holiday. Every single one of these are available on DVD. So if you are hoping to watch them this October 31, hit up your Netflix account or nearest rental store.
