AUDIO Can They Work Together? 6/29/2009 5:42:53 PM | Tina Kaufmann, AkronNewsNow.com The Fraternal Order of Police is hopeful they will begin a new journey with Mayor Plusquellic's office. advertisement There's nothing set in stone of what will be done differently, but with the recall behind them, the FOP is hoping they and Mayor Plusquellic's office can work together. FOP Lodge 7 President Paul Hlynsky hopes communication will be improved with Mayor Plusquellic's office, "we also expect him to work with us. He needs to understand we aren't going to shy away from issues if we feel strongly about something - then that's going to be our position. Certainly, nobody should be taking it personally. If we don't agree on something, than we don't agree..." Hlynsky is referencing the narrow vote by FOP members in support of last Tuesday's recall election.
The Mayor has cut off communications before and Hlynsky hopes this will be a new beginning for the two to work together. "The FOP will do our part, but it takes two people to tango," says Hlynsky. Content © AkronNewsNow.com. All rights reserved.
