Gas Goes Up 8 Cents 5/4/2009 6:20:43 AM | Ryan Haidet Ohio gasoline prices have jumped 8 cents in the last week as hopes for an economic recovery had oil prices rising. advertisement A survey from AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows regular-grade gas is averaging about $2.07 a gallon statewide, up from $1.99 last Monday. Last year at this time, Ohio motorists paid an average of around $3.59 for regular. Oil prices have pushed to more than $53 per barrel after about a month of trading very close to the $50 mark. The cost of oil has gone up as a consensus grows among traders that the global economy may have hit its bottom and turned the corner toward a recovery. On the Net:
