Akron's under construction wireless Internet network is unveiling its online home this week.

"ConnectAkron" will provide a destination for those interested in the network to find out all about it...and its progress.

Doug Adams with the Knight Center of Digital Excellence says "ConnectAkron" will help those who will use the network come up with ideas on how to use the network to help themselves and their community, and communicate with those building the network.

It'll also allow people to track ideas from the "Akron Advisory Council", a group of community leaders, which is coming up with applications for the wireless network.

The Knight Center says the site will feature two-way communication between those building and shaping the network and its users. It'll also feature help systems that'll help people get connected when the network goes live.

The 12-square mile free network will be available in downtown Akron and adjoining neighborhoods later this year, with the first available use expected in parts of the downtown area around June 1st.

The site is available at ConnectAkron.org.

IT'S A SHAM, Firestone Park is in more need than a smaller Highland square area, the population south isn't in the picture, smells like Warner cable doesn't want it here, to lose money, backroom deals again
