Gas Prices Slide 2 Cents 4/20/2009 6:41:40 AM | Associated Press Ohio gasoline prices have slipped just 2 cents in the last week as oil prices were holding fairly steady around the $50 level. advertisement A survey from AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows the statewide average for regular is now $1.99, down from about $2.01 last Monday. The cost of oil has been hovering around $50 a barrel this month after dropping below $35 in February as investors struggle to decipher how the economy will perform in the second half of the year. Traders will be looking for clues in this week's big batch of corporate earnings reports. Ohio motorists are paying much less for gas than they were a year ago, when regular averaged $3.40 on its way to last summer's record high of $4.05.
