Gas Goes Up Another 9 Cents
 3/30/2009 6:25:28 AM  |  Associated Press

Ohio motorists are paying an average 9 cents more for gasoline this week, largely because of refinery shutdowns for maintenance.

A gallon of regular now averages $2.05 around the state, up from about $1.96 last Monday, according to AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express.

Late last week, regular-grade gas popped back above the $2 mark for the first time since early November.

Analysts say prices have climbed because of interruptions in production. Refineries have been going out of service for maintenance to get themselves ready for the peak summer driving season.

Gas remains much cheaper than a year ago, when the Ohio average for regular was $3.22 per gallon.

You are absolutely correct missfit. There is nothing we can do but take it and do nothing. Forget trying to have congress do something because the oil companies have lined the pockets of those in office. I remember CBS doing a story of why when crude oil was down, it still caused prices to raise here. I can't guess as to why its cheaper in the middle east.

Gasoline prices are why my confidence in the economy is shaken. The seemingly wild and inexplicable fluctuations in price have left me feeling that everything is on uncertain ground.

Mr. Obama will fire Rick Waggoner at General Motors, but will not say one thing to the oil giants. The gasoline prices in my opinion is what caused the problem with our economy in the beginning.

I think for all the money the big three has generated for the oil giants, they should bail out the automobile industry.
In another 10 years the oil industry can leave their oil in a very dark place. (The ground.)
