Ohio Gas Prices Drop 11 Cents
 3/16/2009 7:22:55 AM  |  Associated Press

Ohio gasoline prices have dropped 11 cents since early last week after showing a brief spike.

A survey from AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows Monday's statewide average for regular is $1.84 per gallon, down from $1.95 a week ago.

One month ago, regular was averaging $1.93 at Ohio pumps.

Analysts at AAA say it's almost impossible to forecast where gas prices will go because the turmoil on Wall Street and within the U.S. banking industry have led to chaotic trading on energy markets. The cost for oil has been zigzagging above and below $40 per barrel.

Ohio gas prices remain far below the levels of a year ago, when the state's motorists were paying an average of $3.35 for regular.

With oil at $40.00 a barrel, gasoline at the pumps should be no more than $1.05 per gallon. We need a good gas war.

From what I read a few weeks ago, the "$40" is the cost of the oil in the u.s., not necessarily the cost per barrel of the oil we get from overseas that is used to produce the majority of our fuel = reason our gas prices haven't fallen more than they have.

WHOCARES the website (Newser) reports foreign oil is $40.00 per barrel TODAY. OPEC said it would cut its output if necessary to stabilize prices. Reuters also reporting. (Newser, read less know more). So now tell me again why prices are not falling more. Its greed.
