Ohio Gas Prices Down 9 Cents 1/26/2009 7:17:59 AM | Ryan Haidet Ohio gasoline prices are lower this week amid fears that the recession could worsen and reduce demand for fuel. advertisement A daily survey from AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows the statewide average for a gallon of regular is $1.84, down 9 cents from last Monday. Ohio prices are in line with the current national average of $1.84. Prices have been fluctuating in recent weeks on questions about fuel supplies and future demand. On Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden said the American economy will "get worse before it gets better." The U.S. is the world's largest consumer of crude oil. Energy traders say economic issues have weakened global demand for fuel and will continue to weigh down prices.
