The survey shows Ohio fuel costs are down almost 50 percent from last year's holiday week, when the average was $3.07. Gasoline prices have followed a slide on the oil market sparked by the U.S. credit crisis, which has sapped consumer demand and corporate profits. Crude oil now costs in the neighborhood of $40 a barrel, down 73 percent since peaking at $147 on July 11.
