NewsGas Prices Fall Another 6 Cents

Ohio motorists have been enjoying lower gasoline prices as they travel to visit relatives and friends for the holidays.

The price watchers at AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express report the state's average cost for regular has dropped 6 cents in the last week to $1.57 per gallon.
The survey shows Ohio fuel costs are down almost 50 percent from last year's holiday week, when the average was $3.07.
Gasoline prices have followed a slide on the oil market sparked by the U.S. credit crisis, which has sapped consumer demand and corporate profits. Crude oil now costs in the neighborhood of $40 a barrel, down 73 percent since peaking at $147 on July 11.
