AUDIO Protestors Prepare For Cooey Death
 10/13/2008 6:38:17 PM  |  Chris Keppler

People who support the death penalty will be joined by those against it outside the prison in Lucasville, where Richard Cooey will be executed Tuesday morning.

Various protests will be held in different parts of the state but Clare Hogenauer, an attorney from New York City is here in person.

"You've got to be here," said Hogenauer.  "The feeling of being just yards away from a human being being slaughtered in my country in 2008 is just horrible."

LISTEN to Clare's reasoning

Hogenauer has stood outside prison walls for 7 executions - holding signs, lighting candles and producing tears.  She's also trying to send a message that each execution has an effect on hundreds or thousands of people - virtually anyone who takes part either personally or professionally.

"I'm sorry to say, sweetie, but I'm going to have to include you in that list," Hogenauer told me, as she patted my shoulder.

Cooey's execution is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday.

I protest because Clare Hogenauer does not care about the victims and their families.

Sounds like she wants to take them home to care and nurture them. She must think they are decent human beings who made just one (or 2 or 3) little mistake and that mistake just happened to cost another person their life. What about the multitudes of humans slaughtered in places like Somalia or Iran, where if you don't belong to the prominent sect of madness you may find yourself without a head, publically. Why doesn't she go to those places and protest?

Slaughtered? Are you frickin' kidding me woman? This bastard SLAUGHTERED two women! Now he is paying the price with his life in a much more humane way than his victims spent their last hours and minutes. I hope this disgusting, worthless excuse for a human being has a moment of remorse in his last breath so that God may have some mercy on his soul!
