The U.S. Supreme Court has denied a request by an Ohio death row inmate to stop his execution.

Cooey is scheduled to die Tuesday for killing two University of Akron students in 1986.
Cooey was still waiting to hear from the U.S. Supreme Court on a separate appeal. In that case, the Ohio Supreme Court on Monday denied Cooey's request that the state use a single drug in the lethal injection process instead of a three-drug combination that he says could cause an agonizing and painful death.
