Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- The situation regarding whether Miley Cyrus is still engaged to Liam Hemsworth took a new twist this week.
Early Wednesday, the singer and actress tweeted that she did not call off her engagement, despite rumors to the contrary.
“I am so sick of LA. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn’t call off my wedding,” she wrote. “Taking a break from social media #draining.” She also wrote that her new music will “shut everyone up.”
But on late Wednesday, Cyrus was photographed outside a Los Angeles recording studio where, People reported, she was not wearing the same jewelry on her ring finger that Hemsworth gave to her when he proposed. The photos were first captured by x17 Online.
A source reported as close to Cyrus told People on Thursday that “Miley still wants to get married.” The source said that the couple has “always had a very passionate relationship,” adding, “They have a very strong physical attraction, but have very different personalities and backgrounds. This makes their relationship very complicated.”
The upcoming March 18 issue of Us Weekly cites a source close to the couple who claims they nixed the wedding.
