Today Is

Let it Ride Day, In 1931 the whistle stop in the desert figured a way to pick up a few bucks: Gambling was legalized in Nevada but the real jackpot came later, in the 1940's when an influx of scientists and the creation of Lake Meade made Las Vegas the perfect storm of sun, sin and chasing a dream of quick riches.

This and That

Why Don't You Just Stay Home

This seems rather odd in 2013, but the majority of fathers would rather have their wives quit their jobs and stay home, or at least work part-time. A survey discovered 37% of dads believe mothers shouldn't work outside the home at all, while 41% say part-time is a good compromise.

Ask women, though, and you get a different answer. 37% of women want to work full time, which is a full 16% HIGHER than what the survey found in 2007.

50% want part-time work compared to 60% in 2007, and only 11% prefer to stay home compared to 19% in 2007.

Wow! Get this -- asked if full-time working moms are doing an excellent or very good job raising their children, and 75% of moms said yes. But less than that, 64% of dads said the same. I bet you wouldn't tell her that, though, would you, big guy?

Older is Better

This comes as a shock to nobody...especially moms - women worry more than men! A study discovered that women were more likely than men to feel nervous, anxious and worried --- 22% to 16%. Younger and middle age men and women seemed to be the most stressed.

The older you get, the happier and less stressed.
