Madison

Meet our sweet Madison …

Meet our beautiful, ornery and fun Madison ...

Gotta love a Beagle ... we do!  They are fun and ornery and they will entertain you forever.  They are perfect in size and in temperament.  And, most people don't know that they are the best cuddle bugs ever!  Madison is no exception... she is a great little dog and will do fine in any home - busy or quiet.  Because she is perfect in size - and cute too - she won't be here long.  Containment is Key to keeping them safe because a Beagle's nose will take them just about anywhere.  And that is probably why she ended up here.  Don't delay ... adopt Madison today!

Note:  Please keep in mind that all adoptable pets need time to decompress once they enter a home.  For some it will happen quickly and for others it might take a few weeks.  You'll want to be understanding of what they have been through and their level of insecurity.  We ask that you treat all of them as if they were an 8 week old puppy.  Assume they know nothing and begin at step one.  You'll soon know what they are capable of and what behaviors you will need kindly work on with your new family member.  It's called commitment!  And, that's what these pets want more than anything!

Greyson

Meet Grayson …

So fun ... so sweet ... so good-looking!  Grayson doesn’t show well behind a kennel door or crate.  He looks and acts fierce in this environment but he is a complete love-bug and doll once he is taken from the kennel!  He is adorable and fun and enjoyed his stomach rubbed while laying belly-up in a submissive and vulnerable position.  It is not uncommon for dogs to want to show their “might” when in the shelter.  After all, if they don’t act fierce and confident, another dog might take advantage of them.  Don’t delay … give this HANDSOME boy a home today.

You'll soon know what they are capable of and what behaviors you will need to kindly work on with your new family member. It's called commitment! And, that's what these pets want more than anything!

Avery

Our dog of the week …

Meet a shelter favorite … Avery.  Her story is somewhat complex and it involves her heart but we can make it right …

If anyone knows this so-called breed, they know these dogs prefer YOU over any toy or treat and with YOU is right where they want to be. These terriers are labeled because of a set of physical characteristics and were the Golden Retriever of the 1960s. Do you remember Petey in The Little Rascals? Petey was of the Pit Bull family. All dogs need kind and patient training to become the pet that they were born to be - and training at any age is an advantage to some extent. Like the many others in the shelter, our terriers show some concern for their where-abouts and want to go home. Many of them are quite young and still have a lot of living to do. Can they do it with you? Don't delay ... let's not leave these loving and deserving dogs in the shelter another day : (.

Melody

Meet Our sweet Melody … Pleeeeeeezzzzzz consider taking her home. This senior does not deserve this. She is sad in the shelter and she is not feeling like herself. Sometimes the shock of this kind of change in a senior's life is just too much to take. She is a mild girl that doesn’t have any expectation and just wants to know you are there. She moves slowly so she would be perfect for someone who wants a larger dog and enjoys a big presence but can only manage a lap dog – that’s just how low-key she is. We believe this will be a VERY rewarding experience for this girls new pet-parent. Though she appears healthy, this adoption will not be a long-time commitment. Please consider giving Melody her Golden Days.

Max

Hi, my name is Max and I am considered to be a senior but I really don’t behave like I’m in my “golden years.” I’m a quiet boy, have nice energy and enjoy other dogs. Though I am a mix-breed I favor the Pug. I get depressed in the shelter environment because it’s no home – and we all know that there’s no place like home! The shelter staff say that I walk well on a leash and I am house broken. I’m on the “portly” side because I was once loved and valued - my previous pet-parent loved me with food! I have now been at the shelter for weeks and I feel like I’m losing my personality with every day that I must stay. Due to my age I may not be with you for a lot of years but by giving me a home you will, no-doubt, offer me peace for the remaining days of my life and I will offer you all that I have left in me. Please don’t delay … give me a safe resting place today.

If you are 55 years of age or older, or a Veteran, and interested in giving me a home for the rest of my days call Georjette Thomas at 330-760-0763. You may qualify for a Senior Pets For Senior Citizens or Pets for Vets grant funding my adoption fee.

Amelia & Lucas

What are people thinking??? Abandoned in a home …

Weighing in at just a few pounds each, our tan friend is more confident than the black dog but they are a bonded pair and must go home together. They are sweet and well-adjusted and should do fine in a home that respects their size. After all, when you are as tiny as these two are everything looks like a giant upon approach. Clearly they were once loved so we can only wonder why they were abandoned in a home. Abandonment is never an option. We have too many rescue groups that will step up – Summit County Animal Control included. Don’t delay … give these two deserving dogs a home today!

Note: Please keep in mind that all adoptable pets need time to decompress once they enter a home. For some it will happen quickly and for others it might take a few weeks.
