Levy Committee Violates State Law

A suburban levy committee is found in violation of Ohio Election laws.

The Stow Sentry reports the Stow-Munroe Falls Schools Levy Committee failed to report that the district covered the tab for legal fees to the tune of $20,000.

Those fees were in relation to a complaint filed in 2009 by the levy committee against a political action committee.

Philip Ritcher, director of the commission, told the newspaper that the commission did find the error to be in violation of the state law, but that it decided against imposing a fine or prosecution.
