The Blue Devils speak no evil. Actually, they're not saying anything at all.
Students and teachers will spend the school day in silence Friday, in observance of the evening football rivalry game against Green High School. Apparently, it was the student body that came up with the idea.
"It's just really been a great student initiative , so we're real proud of our kids and they still have that sense of school spirit," Jeff Ferguson said, superintendent.
If anyone does slip and utter a few words, it's asked they contribute $1 to the school's Christmas charity for a family each year.
Ferguson joined the 1590 WAKR Ray Horner Morning Show on Friday and described the morning routine as quiet.
"I've already went into one science class and watched the science lab go on ... in total slience," he said.
Teachers are encouraged to answer questions via their chalk or white boards.
"If kids have questions, they can write with a Sharpie pen on the little white board and hold up the question," Ferguson said.
About 60 students and nine teachers united Thursday night to deck out the school in spirit before the devils play the bulldogs in Green.
