Canton Police are on the lookout for man they say shot two teenagers Wednesday afternoon.

News Channel 5 reports Canton Police have issued warrants for Jerell Covington, the person who allegedly shot  19-year-old Devawn Moore and 14-year Tavasia Chester during a shootout on 17th Street and Rowland Avenue NE.

At the same time, police say there was an altercation between two groups of people and more than two people were shooting at one another.

Police say Chester was on her way to pick up a school book from a friend's house, was shot in both of her legs after the gunfight erupted. She is at a local hospital listed in satisfactory condition. Moore was also shot several times in the abdomen.

Captain Dave Davis of the Canton Police Department said he was not sure if the shooting was gang or drug related.

Covington has two  warrants for felonious assault.  Canton Police said he is 5'6", 135 lbs and warn that he is known to carry firearms.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Canton Police.
