Revere freshman point guard Camryn Brown is the WAKR Student Athlete of the Week for January 18th-January 25th.

Camryn is averaging 14.8 ppg, 2.1 apg and is shooting 74 % from the Free Throw line.

"I have played all over and AAU leading up to this year so I felt like I was ready for the challenge" Brown said.

Brown is not only making an impact at Revere on the basketball court but she is making her presence in the classroom as well.  Brown is the 9th grade Council President.

"I love school, it is a balance, but a good one" Brown said.  "I do believe that the classroom and the court go hand in hand with success".

Camryn loves to compete and really enjoys her teammates.

"They have really accepted me, which has helped me in my transition to the varsity level" Brown said.  "I really do think I was ready for this thanks to all of my experience on the AAU level".

Revere is off to one of it's better starts at 7-6 overall and 4-3 in the rugged Suburban League.  Revere is coached by Kevin Verde.

Ray has spent more than the past ten years as the morning show host on 1590 WAKR; he's also a strong voice for community discourse and programming in Akron. Ray is a two-time Pennsylvania Sportscaster of the Year and came to Akron from a long career on 1490 WMGW-AM in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
