St. Sebastian Parish will offer a Rose Mass for health care workers and their families. The Rev. John Valencheck will celebrate the Mass, which invokes God’s blessing on all health care workers and their families, hospital chaplains, and the many health care institutions and their patients in the Cleveland Diocese. Following the Mass, coffee and doughnuts will be provided in the parish vestibule.

The Akron-Summit County Public Library is celebrating its fifteenth year as a Patent & Trademark Depository Library in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  An Introduction to Intellectual Property program will be held at Main Library (60 S. WAKR's "Salute to America" Senior Lunhceon, supported by Akron General,  will take place on Tuesday, February 23, at Akron General's Wellness Center West (route 18 at I77).  Over 20 vendors providing everything from decorations to medical research information and offering lots of "freebies".  Entertainment will be provided by the Miller South Show Choir.  Doors open at 10am and cost is only $12.00 per person.  Tickets may be purchased at the WAKR studios or by mail---check should be made out to WAKR Luncheon and sent in a self-addressed, stamped envelope to WAKR Luncheon, 1795 W. Witan's 33rd Annual French Market Todaro's Party Center, Akron

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Food Drive
The CVSR holds a canned food drive February 27 &28, 2010, to benefit both the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and the Cleveland Foodbank. Passengers can climb aboard at either the Akron Northside Station or the Rockside Station in Independence, and for just $5 and a canned food item, take a ride through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Trains depart from the Rockside Station, located at 7900 Old Rockside Road in Independence at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and from the Akron Northside Station, located at 27 Ridge Street in Akron, at 11:35 a.m.  No reservations are necessary.  Canned food items will be collected and tickets sold on the train. he first ever Geauga Lake Memorabilia Show & Employee Reunion will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Roller Hutt Skate & Fun Center at 10268 Hewins Road, State Route 88, in Garrettsville, Ohio.  The show will run from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and will celebrate the history of Geauga Lake amusement park, which opened in 1888 and closed in 2007.
