I never thought I would like reality television.  Then I saw Survivor: The Australian Outback and I was hooked.  Since then I have seen countless reality shows and continue to sit in front of the screen waiting to see what move everyday people will make in extraordinary situations.  My fandom of reality television brought me to many events, meeting past competitors.  Soon after, I landed a job as a writer for RealityTVMagazine.com.  I have represented them at several live Survivor finales since December of 2006.

  MULTIMEDIA Big Bucks For Seacrest

A huge pay day for Ryan Seacrest.  He's netted a deal to host three more seasons of American Idol for a cool $45 million.

Wow.  That's a ton of money to simply guide the show along.  With his new paycheck, Seacrest will be the highest-paid host in reality television history.

It's simply amazing to hear how much cash is being thrown his way.  It seems a tad crazy to pay somebody so much money to simply do things like in the video below.

WATCH a YouTube video where Seacrest announces last season's winner:

But that's not the only stunning report from Idol lately.  Rumor has it that Simon Cowell is working to negotiate a deal worth as much as $100 million!

I wonder how Brian Dunkleman must feel about leaving the show after only co-hosting the reality giant for only one season.  I guess that's what he gets for quitting.

So what are your thoughts?  Do you think he should be given this much money to host a reality show?  Is he really that good?  Could Idol continue with a different host?
