I never thought I would like reality television.  Then I saw Survivor: The Australian Outback and I was hooked.  Since then I have seen countless reality shows and continue to sit in front of the screen waiting to see what move everyday people will make in extraordinary situations.

My fandom of reality television brought me to many events, meeting past competitors.  Soon after, I landed a job as a writer for RealityTVMagazine.com.  I have represented them at several live Survivor finales since December of 2006.

  MULTIMEDIA 'Dancing' Cast Announced

Just when you thought the name Kate Gosselin had been zapped out of reality television, she's tossing on her dancing shoes and making a huge debut later this month as one of the 11 contestants on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars."  The scary thing is I think she has a pretty good shot at taking the mirror ball trophy.

Why?  You ask.  That answer is simple.  The controversy surrounding her marriage skyrocketed her fame, or infamy if you wish, to the top of the charts.  When you compare her name to others on the list, she is extremely popular.  She's already got a solid fan base.

Plus, if Kate's kids all vote there is no way she can lose.

Don't get me wrong.  The 10 other stars for the upcoming season are popular in their own way, but far from Kate's level.  Pamela Anderson is well beyond her heyday, and I get the feeling female viewers won't be as willing to vote for her.

Here are my other predictions for the rest of the cast:

Buzz Aldrin: Nice guy with no chance.  He may have walked on the moon, but I don't think he can handle the tango.

Erin Andrews: She might be able to report on sports, but does she have the kicks to win?  Doubtful.  Her popularity is male-dominated, which will hurt her in the show that is viewed overwhelmingly by women.

Shannen Doherty: If we don't vote for her I'm scared she might beat us all up.  Just saying.

Evan Lysacek: He's a Olympic gold medalist figure skater, which puts him a step above the other competitors.  His performance ability will be much stronger than everybody else.  Look out Kate --  he could be tough.

Niecy Nash: I think she is absolutely hysterical on "Reno 911," but I don't think she'll be around long.  Remember Macy Gray?  Enough said.

Chad Ochocinco: This NFL star with the Bengals will be around for a while.  Football favorites tend to fare well on "Dancing."  Plus, he's got all those years of experience getting down in the end zone.

Jake Pavelka: This whiny moron from "The Bachelor" will hopefully be out early.  I don't know how much of his nonsense I can take anymore.  Gag me.

Nicole Sherzinger: This Pussycat Dolls pop singer has a great chance at going a long way simply due to her background as a performer.  Possibly all the way to the top three.

Aiden Turner:  Who?  Apparently he's a soap opera star.  Again, who?

The new season kicks off on Monday, March 22.

What are your thoughts of this cast?  Are you happy with it?  Who do you think will win?
